As a side project, worked with a criminal defense law firm to build and continue fleshing out a custom case management system. Worked iteratively to identify firm processes and automate whenever possible. Emphasis on data security and process flexibility.
Senior Software Engineer, Bold Penguin (March 2020 - present)
Performed mostly backend engineering for complex rule systems around insurance quoting. Focused on requirements analysis working heavily with business to identify risks and opportunities. Frequently collaborated with vendors to tackle bugs on both sides of their integrations with Bold Penguin. Took the lead in establishing and maintaining a collaborative team with other engineers, helping them identify business value and elevating technical concerns in ways that allow the business to understand and respond.
Software Engineer, Kazoo (April 2019 - March 2020)
Assisted the merging of two different platforms into one product, building single-sign-on services, moving API calls to GraphQL, and fleshing out the React-based user interface. Mentored junior developers extensively and contributed to process improvements.
